College Football is (finally!) upon us and its time to celebrate! Oh how I’ve missed watching my Tigers hit the field!

For Christmas last year Santa gave me an awesome Southern Living SEC Tailgating Cookbook.

Not only does this cookbook offer a wide assortment of game day recipes, but they start off with “The 10 Commandments of College Football Fandom.” Everything from “Thou shalt wear team colors” to “Thou shalt set up a tailgate no fewer than three hours before kickoff (six if its a night game) and nice reminders to be respectful and mind your manners. I really like Commandment 8: Thou shalt theme your tailgate food around the visiting rival.

So my goal is to make one new recipe each week in honor of the team we are playing, whether it is themed around a mascot (alligator for when we play Florida!!), school colors or a regional specialty from the opposing team. I’m not sure. Or maybe I will just follow along with the cookbook and let them take the lead with traditional southern tailgating specialties. Only time will tell. But I love how they printed a Spicy Buffalo Wing recipe under the University of Missouri pages! Like they knew I was going to use this cookbook. They just knew my undying love for Mizzou Tigers and hot wings. Its like it was meant to be.

So, to kick things off (pun totally intended) I am sharing the recipe with you …

Bring on the games! Let’s go TIGERS! M-I-Z !!!
