Taco Tuesday

Tuesday’s were made for eating tacos. Except this week I had a craving for hot wings, but that’s not the point. The point is Tuesdays and Tacos go together like peas & carrots. Like Scooby & Shaggy. Like Ben & Jerry. You get the point.

Each week I usually find myself wondering where we can sneak away and find a great taco. Oftentimes we find ourselves at one of our tried & true, favorite places. El Patron on SW Boulevard is definitely a reliable stop and that’s where we ended up last week and expect to find ourselves back with friends in the very near future.

When you get to El Patron, don’t get discouraged if you find yourself waiting to get that first cocktail in your hand after you sit down. Sometimes it takes their servers a minute (or three) to realize they have a new table amidst the bustling restaurant. The wait is worth it. Not only are the tacos cheap on Tuesdays ($1 each!!!) but they serve the most delicious margaritas in town. They have a sweetness that is not overwhelming… it almost tastes like a pina colada was in the blender before they whipped up your margarita. Whatever they do, they do it well. I can’t get enough of this place. (And be prepared: while those awesome al pastor tacos are only $1, the margaritas are on the pricier end of the spectrum. But who cares, you are saving money on the food portion of the bill!)

I can already taste the tacos as I write this. Hmmm I may need to get a taco fix before next Tuesday ….
